Swing Out Sister - Somewhere in The World from "Shapes and Patterns" (1997)
Like a stranger's smile that lasts for a while For a moment you feel happy inside In a world that keeps on changing too fast When the future always has the last laugh
Maybe we've made mistakes Maybe we're not the only ones Maybe it's not too late To start all over
All the shapes and patterns you'll see in your mind Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you
Like a rainbow bursting out of the sky Close your eyes and see your dreams running wild Colors brighter than the sun all around Everlasting as this new joy you've found
Maybe we've made mistakes Maybe we're not the only ones Maybe it's not too late To start all over
All the shapes and patterns you'll see in your mind Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world
Someone's thinking of you Starting all over again In a world that keeps on changing much too fast
Maybe we've made mistakes Maybe we're not the only ones Maybe it's not too late To start all over
All the shapes and patterns you'll see in your mind Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world Someone's thinking of you Somewhere in the world

This is a fact. The US record companies DO NOT WANT foreign acts invading the charts with better music. There were two British Invasions 1960-1972 and 1980 to 1990. Foreign acts basically kicked American musical acts all around the charts. Even MJ's album Thriller was arranged by a Brit. That's why their not promoted here. It was designed to take out the real artists and develop top 40 crap like Britney Spears and RAP. It's the most sinister thing I've ever seen involving the arts ever.
A producers job is to get the musicians. An arrangers job is to conduct. Jones didn't have to do much but guide the ship because if you listen to the Thriller album, a lot of it is sequence by keyboards with the exception of bass or guitar. And when CBS/Sony gives you an unlimited budget like they did Jones, you can damn near call on any session musician. But you'll see that Michaels solo hits were directly created by Temperton and with the Jacksons, his best songs were penned with Randy.
Fooled By A Smile is definitely one of their best. This is "nice" (and I don't mind it for that) but it doesn't really grab you. I love this this band. When I'm not drunk I'll post the other songs by them that I think are a bit better. The first one one to spring to mind is "Forever Blue": not only a beautiful video but a gorgeous song as well, though you may not agree. I'm too drunk at the moment but there are many more. It depends what mood you're in. "Blue Mood" ?
