The Tarney/Spencer Band Was Formed In England During The 70's. They Released Three Albums And Had Several Singles. In The 80's, Alan Tarney Produced "Take On Me" By Aha. Here's A Great Example Of The "Tarney Sound" On One Of Their Best Singles From 1978 Called "It's Really You".
the stunning part of this track is the intro and verse, but on the chorus turns into average easy pop tune

Thanks for posting this but I still prefer the heavier "No Time To Lose" from "Run For Your Life." I never heard this song before & I didn't hate it either!!
