Bald Eagle Flying Over Vlai Pond 04-26-2007

I finally got some video of one of the bald eagles nesting on the mountain I live on. With bright sun at my back, I had trouble getting the bald eagle into the view finder, but at about a minute in, I get some good footage. It was awesome!

I was hoping he'd dive into the pond for a fish, but no luck today. Maybe next time.

This was shot from my patio overlooking Vlai Pond in Franklinton, NY.

This one is kinda dead until 1:15 into the clip.

Today, the eagle and the osprey put on quite a show. A lucky couple on the other side of the pond got a real treat as they had front row seats to the whole affair. I will be posting that in an hour or two. (4/29/07)

For the eagle watching crew, there is a nice public overlook of the pond on RT 145 in Franklinton/Middleburgh. It is almost directly across the pond from me. There is parking for a dozen or so cars.

Thanks for sharing. The fact this was shot by an amateur helped me. I wanted to confirm what I saw yesterday. A nice close up detailed video would have been useless to me. But this certainly confirmed it was a Bald Eagle. Thanks a bunch

Nice video! Spotted my first bald eagle ever today and it looked much like yours, soaring over Apponequet Pond in Lakeville, Massachusetts.

We live in northern indiana and last saturday went for a ride and seen 25 mature eagles and 7 inmature ones
