Our schnauzer had seizures for about a month after we changed our flooring from carpet to tile and hardwood.. We were cleaning the new floor with pine sol and or Lysol.. I suggest if you are experiencing simmilar seizures with Your dogs, switch to a water only "floor steamer, sanitizer" no pine sol. Our dog has had no more seizures. Hope this might help!!

  • my 4 year old chocolate lab had her first seizure a few days ago . we took her right to the vet and they found nothing wrong. the worry and anxiety we had led me to research why this happened. I think I have linked it to pine scented pinesol. all the floors had just been washed but were dry and the smell was still strong. ill never use it again and I pray she never has another!!

  • Interesting. Our older schnauzer started having seizures after we put in a laminated oak wood floor, about a month later too. But the difference is that he is real old, like 16 or 17...when dogs get that old, its not unusual for them to develop seizures, but I find this a very weird coincident with the flooring.......

  • I have a 4 year old mini schnauzer named Watson who has been having seizures for a year now. He took many tests and we found out he has hyperlipidemia, which is hereditary in Mini Schnauzers. Now he's on low fat dog food and takes phenobarbatol as well as fish oil and chitosan to lower his lipid. Hope your schnauzer is doing better!
