Running the game under the latest version of WINE should have fixed this issue.
Check winehq, but I haven't had any issues for a good long while now.

I don't know what's the cause of this...mmhh "Max Payne Barbie Edition" but with Hardware Acceleration Mr Max works perfectlly, I mean this is for a driver or something else.
