Tijdlus (Loop) is a collaboration project between Joost van Veen (cinematographer) and Huib Emmer (electronosomnomist, composer). For the project Faces is joined by Lukas Simonis on guitar and voice, Nina Hitz on cello and voice, Kaoru Iwamura on spinet, arp odyssey, hammond and voice. Tijdlus is a performance with lots of found footage. Joost van Veen makes his images listening to the sound and music at rehearsals. During the performance his images are the inspiration source for the musicians. This gives the opportunity to improvise and change the composition as it goes. The Music balances between free improvisation and binding regulations. The ability to change as you go affects the piece in the right way giving space for momentum, unpredictability and madness.
