Things have gotten ridiculous with rents. The housing bubble has increased cost without any change to the value or size of the units. Owners have benefitted simply from being near publically funded projects like subways. And they have gotten nasty when someone under rent control can't afford to move. There is so much inhumanity in it.

i know lisa very well and i can advocate for the passion in her voice. also: she doesn't just know homeless people, she is close friends with many.
