  • it's a gift to gaz...but robbie has more feeling to sing this one..more power because he wrote this!

  • I actually like both versions, but I think it's great to hear and see Rob sing it, as it's his story of looking back on his first time with the band and he sang it from the heart, it was that meaningful to him, I am sure it was an honour for Gary to sing it, as it's something he could relate to, an experience they're sharing, like Mark said in the video when talking about this song, it feels like they've gone full circle, it's great to see them all working together as a band, very encouraging.

  • awesome maybe more in north america wouldve heard of them if theyd played this version

  • to those who say, rob's singing is out of tune: this is how they all sound without autotune when they do recording.

  • I love this song but I prefer Gary's voice

  • I still prefer Gaz version, cause he has the voice for that kind of song. But when we need a rocky voice, Robbie is here :)

  • tears...

  • this song means alot to me! love this version!<3<3

  • @lovemusicbaby123 Jason would be one to talk if you think that was sarcastic. Robbie can sing rings around him even on his worst days. Jason is a very weak vocalist and often has regular pitching problems. Why do you think he doesn't have more leads? Gary IS the strongest vocalist but Robbie is the second best. They are two completely different styles so it all comes down to taste.

  • @joshuawatson2009 Gary has lead on The Flood, Wait, Kidz, Pretty Things and Happy Now. A better argument would have been that each other band member (even Jason *cringe*) had a song to themselves while Gary didn't. Robbie gave this song to Gary. Gary sang plenty of lead throughout the album though.

  • @jomel10 Gary didn't NEED a song. He's a songwriting factory. The whole point of this album was for EVERY band member to be involved. Gary still sung a lot of the lead on the album. Robbie's songwriting has improved after years of touring solo but Gary's always been an astonishingly gifted songwriter. If he needed a song he could've wrote one in a flash. Robbie let Gary take the lead out of respect for the guy's voice I would expect.

  • @lizbennetgenova Considering Robbie apparently wrote the song himself why would he write it in a key that wasn't suitable? I'm a musician myself and it's far from easy to notice problems in pitching unless you have perfect pitch and very few vocalists out there sing with perfect pitch anyway. Robbie is the second best voice in the group. Most vocalists in the charts nowadays are very poor. The best voices are in alternative genres (check out Geoff Tate or Daniel Gildenlow), Robbie did just fine.
