Recently picked up a chrome slide, which I personally feel agrees with the phosphor-bronze strings I recently put on my Epiphone AJ-100 acoustic.

(I believe the technical explanation for that is something involving sympathetic vibrations and feedback being different depending on what materials the slide and strings are made out of...)

Sounds bright while still avoiding a lot of unwanted reverberating noises.
(Excepting of course, those made through human error)

[Note to Self: Self, get around to learning proper string-damping technique!]

Like most of my other song posts, this is in key of G with dobro-style Open G tuning (GBDGBD)

Again, there were some minor timing issues, but all-in-all, I liked the overall sound I was able to coax out of my lil' beastie.

Enjoy!

  • did you learn all this stuff from a teacher or directly off the web?if so where cos id like to have some tips on slide. I saw in one of your other comments you said you were going from compltete beginner to blues guitar playing. thanks for any help.

  • No teachers other than various youtube tutorials.

Look up Bottleneck blues lessons on youtube.

  • The AJ in the model name stands for Advanced Jumbo. The DR model guitars are Dreadnaughts.

  • My bad. You are in fact correct..Although the scale for Epiphone's AJ and DR are both still 25.5" and the shape of the two are not altogether different.

  • @rockmusic121

    I paid 120buck CDN. It's a decent starter guitar.
