Young, aggressive swimmers canʼt WAIT to start racing. Because of that, as coaches and teachers, we have to instruct them the best way to begin a race. If theyre too aggressive, swimmers can end up dragging their arms through the water on the recovery phase of the first stroke, creating tremendous resistance and slowing the swimmer down.

  • i have a lot of trouble getting my arms completely out of the water when doing this. Any Help?

  • @archenemy2242 You may be initiating the stroke just a bit too soon, which could cause that. I'd hate to recommend coming up at a steeper angle, but that's also an option. You just don't want to POP too high out of the water. Just some ideas.
