The Community Against Preventable Injuries interviews Jeff Dolan, Executive Director of Regional Operations, BC Coroner's Service, about the impact of preventable injuries. From the interview, we learn that in the case of accidental events, the Coroner's office focuses in determining the factors that contributed to said death and identifying the factors that could have prevented this event from happening in the first place, going public with this information. Of the 7500 deaths reported to the Coroner in 2007, approximately 1300 were accidental. The incident itself could have been prevented in many cases.
