It's actually a Motability car so it's best that it's left as standard. If I end up buying the car in just under 3 years time then I would think about having it modified.
I do find you have to be a bit careful with the throttle in terms of the fuel consumption. I have got the car to do an average of 40 mpg but once you drop a gear or two and use the engines power that can go down to 20 or less mpg!!!

I drive the 2011 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Sri Turbo here in the UK. The car I drive has the 6 speed manual gearbox rather than the automatic.
It's 0 to 62 mph acceleration is 7.8 seconds so it's quite quick. Not quite up there with the Subaru Impreza's or Mitsubishi Evolution's but my previous car was a Volvo S40 1.6S with 100bhp so for me the Astra with 178bhp is better.
