The Legend of Zelda NES Second Quest guide part 1 (1/2)

After you beat the first Quest, Quest II will be unlocked. You also notice that Link is holding a sword on the save files, so you can tell that it's a Quest II file.

You can go straight into Quest II by typing in "ZELDA" when making a new save file. But you should complete Quest I because it will a big help since Quest II builds off of the first quest.

The Overworld may look the same but it's not. Most of the Heart Containers locations are changed along with some items. After level 4, all of the Dungeon locations are completely different. Some have new monsters that did not appear in the Quest I. Quest II is no joke.

I decided to get the Magical Shield first since it's cheaper and more important than the Blue Ring. Making Money in Quest II is much more difficult than before, so it will take longer.

Summary: Got Magical Shield, Blue Candle, Heart Container, and Power Bracelet.

Hidden Rupee locations: 100, 30, 30, 30.

@MrDancingJoe The heart container is in the Graveyard at the top left screen and the power bracelet in the same location as in the first quest.

danny66442200 - Quest II is more challenging but Quest I is the real experience imo. On Quest II after finishing the third dungeon, that's where people start to give up since the game cranks up the difficulty and only the persistant survive.

Is there any way to go back to quest 1 with all my stuff back or am I screwed? I hit start because I thought it would make my file 3 second quest and my first would stay the same.

Once you complete the game (either quest) you can't begin another game with your stuff from your last playthrough. If you beat the game the first time your save file will automatically be set up for Quest II and once you beat that it will stay on Quest II. The only way to play the first quest is to make a new save file.

This is so fucking hard... lol ive been playing it for hours and can't find anything decent as for secret caves and i can't find the 2nd dungeon

Thank you for posting this. This is the hardest game with 2nd quest so far. Much harder than the 2nd Super Mario Bros quest.

At 3:50 Go right to the dead tree with Gamble Game inside. But the hidden wall above it leads to Blue Ring (250 Rubies). I suggest you to play gamble where the spiders nearby (at beginning) to earn up to 255 Rubies. That's how I earn more Rubies much faster by saving the game without losing some Rubies. Filthy Rich!

How to save the game? First, press START. Then use Controller #2, press and hold UP and press A button to bring up "CONTINUE", "SAVE" and "RETRY".

I beat the first quest and got 100%, and when I started my Second Quest file, I started with all 16 heart containers, is that supposed to happen?...
