These girls are of course not the Shangri-Las. The original version was the 'b' side of 'I Can Never Go Home Anymore' both of which had Mary Weiss on lead. It's from 1965.
How out of it are they in this clip? I love this song to pieces but in the video they so blow their cool. I've seen more elegant truck drivers. (Well, actually I haven't but you get my point).
Anyone who covers this song is A-ok in my book! Heck, for that matter, anyone who even KNOWS this song gets my vote! Good work.
