  • In fact... the interesting fact about this movie is not the product... but the video itself. I like the filmic aspects and the way it has been done. Very good combination of music and images....nice cutting... sometimes just think a little bit deeper... there's more than just the stupid product ^^ (sorry for my terrible english)

  • Microsoft had an idea. They didn´t made it real. Apple was faster. Those are true facts. But Microsoft was the visionary. 5 years ago I was dreaming about buying one thing like this. Now, I can. And the music ROCKS

  • Wish I knew how to get the music.

  • @joselrodriguezespin Someone at Microsoft had the idea, but what's interesting to me is that I recall thinking at the time this came out "Too unrealistically fancy and integrated" and now I think "Wow, my iPad is way more capable than that." So they had a vision, but the vision turned out to be near-sighted in a lot of important ways. Why does the thing have a pen? Why such a small screen? No phone? No camera? Even with those limitations, MS still didn't make it real though, and real is the key.

  • That was an interesting concept, except that the market wasn't ready for it yet.

People had to be introduced to touchscreen-only interfaces through smartphones before they would be ready for the introduction of tablet PCs (though presently tablets are more big smartphones than small computers).

Microsoft did it the wrong way around, taking a OS and an UI made for keyboard/mouse and trying to put it on a touchscreen. They went top-down not bottom-up.

  • Proof that Microsoft has no shortage of “visionaries” and no lack of big bucks for marketing.

They just have no idea how to make a product that real people can use, unless it's the 17th iteration of a concept that was born in the 1980s. I think it's rather amazing how much farther tablets have come in the 5 years since this impossible (for 2006) video was posted.

  • Microsoft invented the tablets we see today in the iPad, etc. a year before the iPhone was even out.

  • more vapourware bullshit

  • Where is the original? This one is a blur. The original looked great.
