Adobe After Effects 3D Text Tutorial

i cant get lights to work, i always do everything that videos tell me to do and lights just dont make any difference to the clips

@wwild2k some people cant afford that stuff (like me!)... But then, im assuming its about as much as 3ds max (3.5k or something), unless its not.

ok here's my problem - when you show the preview of your rotating 3D text at the beginning you can see the depth of it which is in a slightly darker colour, so it looks nice and defined. But in mine the colour of the depth is the same colour as the text so when it rotates it looks like a big blob of whiteness. how do i change the colour of the depth?

Only problem is text looking too sharpy and there is actually pixels on smoother fonts... so people, use Cimena 3D / 4D if it's possible for you.
