a quick demo of the current Alone 'live'-ish setup.

Today heralded the arrival of the MIDI mobilizerII for the iPad, meaning I could finally use it as more than just a toy and as something that could control several bits of hardware at once.

The audio went straight into the camera hence some fizzy oddness.

The iPad is running Genome Sequencer, this sends notes and clock to the EHX 2880, the Game Boy Advance running Nanoloop 2.5 and MPC500. Note that the Nanoloop uses its own sequence for the song and only receives the clock. The box that sends the GBA the clock was designed and built by Little-Scale who is a smart smart man.

The Pod and 2880 do nothing in the video bar flash and look funky.

Hardware is cool.

  • @splee00 its the best looper out there for the price imho and I certainly tried a fair few of them.. I love it as it has midi clock, a few little issues, but otherwise its great. A little fiddly maybe but I might invest in the footswitch someday (overpriced boxes of buttons that they are...)

  • @alonemusicuk badass! how do you like that ehx looper? a buddy of mine has one and im in love with it.

  • @splee00 I moved away from the Line 6 for guitar and use a normal amp setup inside.. but added a NES (I'm a sucker for those retro sounds) and a MIDINES Cart for it.

  • @alonemusicuk Nice, what else is in it? And trust me I know ha. I produce too and drums are the hardest thing for me.

  • @splee00 Thanks man. The setup has changed a little since I recorded this, as well as much more work on the tracks.. So hopefully yeah, it should be quite varied (in terms of style as well as patterns). It is hard walking that line between a good beat and repetition though.

  • Good luck on that gig next week! but a little advice, try adding a little more variation to your kick drums and percussion in general. Other then that good shit!
