@Fishilisation D5000 is almost (99%) the same as the D3000 (more like the d3100), so if you're going to upgrade , go for the D7000.

It has a built in autofocus motor...it would focus on a potato.

@Belenor i'm going to get an af-s 35mm 1.8 for my nikon d3000, that should work right? then save up for a d5000 which will also work?

does it work with d7000?

it would explode.. if you have an af-motor in the camera youd be better of with the older AF or AF-D version as they vastly superior

what would happen if I attached this lens to a camera which had autofocus in the body? would appreciate a response very much please! :)

can this work on a canon t2i?

I really liked your review, but I have a question; I have a D90, would you recommend this lens or the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G? I want a lens that autofocusses very fast. Thanks!

I´ve got a D60 with the old 50mm 1.8D. So I have to focus manually which sometimes it´s a pain. Should I sell it and upgrade it to the 50mm 1.8G or buy the 35mm af-s 1.8? What do you suggest?

@Tolerantoba if you have something like a trip 35 or any range finder camera like that then people generally dont mind as its smaller and not as in your face :)
Woul it autofocus on D5000?
