Took out my new kart with a fresh engine today for some pre-season testing. I blew the engine in my second session.

  • nice driving! but what actually happend with you engine????

    back-end?

  • Thanks @henkdecitroen13 Actually it was the result of defective seals. Really easy fix. A lot of smoke, but no real damage. The Rotax engines are really solid in my experience (other than this one).

  • is this kart a 2010 rotax senior kart straight from the rotax finals? Ken at mosport was trying to sell me one for 6500 i think back in feb.

  • @jamescs9 Hey, this is actually a 2009 Chassis I bought from Ken and Brian and put my own engine on, that was rebuilt and brought up to 2010 spec by Brian. I used to have this engine on an MBA shifter chassis (same one in my shifter kart video) . It is unreal how well it handles in comparison to the old chassis. The engine popped due to a $20 defective seal, and Brian had me back on track in a couple hours. Brian and Ken really stand behind their stuff, and I highly recommend this setup.

  • loving the gloves

  • @subeefan haha, those are the best gardening/driving gloves I own.

This is Youtube. Back up your criticism with your own uploads.

  • looks like a really nice circuit :)

  • bad driving. you drift a lot and you lose seconds. it may look fast but it is not.

    practise.

    champion

  • The problem is it's a brand new rotax and your going full out without warming it up first the first session ever u should put in a 168 jet and do a bit of laps going pace lap speed (you probably didn't do this and that's why your engine broke) after that just go out every day and before each session make sure your water temp is at least over 35 degrees Celsius and put in a smaller jet.

  • Ya man that happened because you probably didn't do the slow session to warm it up for the first time

  • @peterwjmiller

you're pretty lucky! good luck with racing!
