HADARC (Hornsby and Districts Amateur Radio Club) team members operate portable for the 2010 John Moyle Field Day and ham radio Contest. The HADARC team set up camp on Friday evening on Mount Tomah in the Blue Mountains overlooking Sydney. The competition starts at noon local time on the Saturday and finishes at noon on Sunday. And that' is when we pack it all up in our cars and head home. These radio camping expeditions are the baby of Rod Gamble, vk2day. Video was shot by David Harvey, vk2dmh, who also took part.

@bowen57 You know the story... Too much sun, too much rain, whatever. I can grumble at anything if I want. But generally speaking we get pretty decent WX here!

All good, nice job with the video.
It is rare for us in VK3 to just operate under a hoochie shelter.
Cheers, VK3W-W-W Jack for VK3ER/p

@vermontcreekbed We were lucky with the weather, which was a bit warm this time. But during the vhf/uhf field day we copped high winds and heavy rain. So we fitted tarps around the sides of the shelter as well. 73 de David, VK2DMH

@vermontcreekbed Thanks Jack. Yeah, we were fortunate with the weather this time. But when it rains or squalls up here we feel it too. :-)

@vk3ye You're very welcome. However, we (everyone at the campsite) were ALL using the club callsign on the John Moyle Field Day -- VK2MA/P (with the slash-P suffix used to indicate we were working Portable ops).
