im trying to get it to reset my vista password with ophcrack but i get to the boot menu it counts down from 10 to 0 and restarts how do i set it up or press tab to go

I'm trying to get XP to boot from my usb with unetbootin, i assumed tis would work,but now it doesn't even give me the old grey menu, and the loading screen is a split second, i noticed it said it was booting unknown twice, and it just boots DSL. Any ideas why it won't install XP?
