@jhareng I know all this , I lived thru it. No need to tell me what is and is not.

@DIOSpeedDemon First production bike to use plastic tanks were the KX in 1978 with the A4. 77factory KX had aluminium tank and looked identical. Not sure on YZ.
RM mid 78 with the C had plastic tanks. 80 for the CR's behind the times as usual.

@jhareng I was right there and lived it in real time. Great bikes and wish I could have bought an orange/red CAN AM 250 or a Husky CR 250 or 370.

@DIOSpeedDemon 1981 saw production YZ, RM 31hp and CR watercooled, 1982 was the start of KX watercooled with the B1.

The first watercooler I know of and bought was a 1981 YZ125, that is the first year that bike companies started to copy their works bikes so the general public could buy one. I would say yamaha was first , though I am not totally sure on that one. That YZ125 cost me 1500$ right out of the box. no set up fees in those days.
that 3 cylinder maico looked nuts. i feel this video isnt as good as the other ones. its got really old bikes in it and i know without them i wouldnt have a bike now but id like to see more 80s and 90s legends.

Theres a 1980 Yamaha in there! There will be more over the series but when you start asking some of the big questions like who was the first watercooling. You can say the first watercooled motorcycle was in 1897 and other companies as early as 1908 produced them. Then you can move onto who was the first MX bike. I try to cover the whole spectrum in the series but need to find innovations or known sought after bikes and has to be verified by some external sources :)
