A compilation of ink drawings by David Richardson Cambridge based artist, put to the music 'Loser' by Beck. The work has been designed to be shown in a box where the viewer will look through a key hole in the box to see this slide show, whilst simultaniously putting their hands in holes at the bottom half of the box to feel various unknown objects and textures. The coming show will be at the Bath House during the Mill road winter fair 2009 Cambridge.
A common theme running through the work reveals a sinister focus on some infamous serial killers such as Ted Bundy, Peter Succliff from Broadmoor hospital, Jeffrey Dharma, Fred West and John Wayne Gacy to name a few. The title, 'I hate birds' comes from a delusion the the artist once had about birds being the reincarnations of serial killers...David Richardson's work is much like a car crash although
its not very nice its hard to take your eyes of it.
I love all these drawings. They are tragic, disturbing, surreal and hilarious all in one. Loser is also one of my favourite songs. I am so pleased to have met you today and to have bought some of your work. Looking forward to seeing more of your pieces in the future.
