Playing with a wild Hare

You obviously know nothing about animals. Just because an animal is wild doesn't mean it can't be playful. The baby hare is playing around.

I will agree that it is best to leave wild babies alone. Rabbits and hares do not hang out with their young except to feed them (which is only a couple of times a day). Many people think that a lone baby is an orphan, but that is not always the case. As for your comment about handling, that is NOT true. Rabbits and hares will not be all that bothered by the smell of a human on their young. Handling them is not advisable, but hardly a death sentence.

If they're still so small you should not touch them because they still drink from their mother and she won't accept them anymore if she smells that they had been touched my human beings. I had to raise 2 European hares by hand because this had happened. Field studies have shown the mother will reject babies with "human smell".

P.S. My rabbit will growl, lunge, attack, and hop, all in the name of play.
She's a pip.

@forestryforum Bully for you!!!
I've got to remember that quote (last sentence). May I use it?
Perfect statement for the quintessential know-it-all youtuber!

There are really some idiots posting here, comments that rabbits have a death sentence if touched by a human (NOT TRUE), that the bunny was trying to run away but too afraid to (NOT).
I have had rabbits for over 20 years, believe me, if he was afraid and wanted to run, he would be gone in less than a second.
He wasn't afraid because he was a baby and was having fun.
What idiots, didn't think people could be so ignorant.
Wonderful vid, that rabbit was adorable, so glad he stuck around.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

This was adorable! It's clear that you were very gentle with the little baby, and allowed it plenty of room to hop around and explore. :) So glad you filmed this encounter and shared it. * Thumbs Up*!

hopperhome dot co An expert says mothers won't reject their offsprings when humans touch them.

CUTEST THING EVER

most guys would kill a baby hare and think it was funny. he obiousley thinks different! gosh obiousley the bunnyis going back to its mom or somebody and when my bunny had babies they spent more time with me than their mom and mom didn't deny them!

I got one baby hare.
You understand it was in a state of pure terror trying but failing to get away from you. Is the video so cute anymore? It was trying to get back to its mother but was hopelessly lost. Actually rabbits can have heart attacks from the stress of such events. Great vid I guess?

You are obviously an authority on wild "hairs" Thanks for your comments
The hare stayed around us for a couple hours. In the two videos you can see the bunny has plenty of room to leave, and comes and goes as it pleases.

Our bunny continued to come out into the yard for the next month or so, and continued to have little fear of us. We could walk up within a few feet of it before it would scurry around us. Eventually disapeared, probably do to natural predation
Now go comment on something else you know nothing about.
