6210-6266 were built by General Motors while 6267-6293 were built by Motor Coach Industries in 1987. The Classic's had ad wraps between 1997-2005. When these buses were rebuilt most of the GM's received the MCI logo's and very few had the GM logo (vice versa). So far only 2 (6221 and 6223) buses are left in Toronto. As of March 2009 these buses will not serve TTC routes because they don't and will not have closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras (6221, 6223) and Surface Vehicle Automated Stop Announcement System (SVASAS) (6221).

  • Is this recording noise coming from #6290 as an MCI Classic?

  • @qwandiddy - Yes.

  • @qwandiddy @ttc2353 Curious? 6210-6249, 6290-6293 were at New Eglinton and 6250-6289 were at Birchmount. Eglinton's group was either retired or sent to Birchmount when more 77xx VIIs arrived between 2005-2006?

  • @TTCOrionVII8100 - Yes, but 6210-6229 were moved to Eglinton from Sept 2005 to May 2006. At that time most of them were moved back to Birchmount, except 6216 and 6229 which they were retired at Eglinton.

  • @TTC2755 It's an H5 (likely the Classic survive the heap). See my #5351 tour video for more.

  • @ttc2353 Arrow's higher 75xx and some 76xx replaced the Classics that moved to Birchmount. That was later replaced with they received the 769x-77xx from Eglinton in late 2008.

In addition, The Classics started in 1987 when they were distributed new with 6210-24 at Old Eglinton, 6225-29 and 6290-93 at Lansdowne, 6230-39 Queensway, 6240-49 Danforth, 6250-59 Davenport, and 6260-89 Malvern..

  • @TTCOrionVII8100 even 6227 is still at Wilson even though it retired years ago it is right beside the train dead end track on the Grass part.

  • Their fate is unknown. 2 Classics are still not used, plated at Mt. Dennis awaiting decommission.
