(to watch the video clearly please watch in HQ settings and then press full screen, for me at least i have to full screen when in HQ to see the video)

ASUS G71GX-RX05:

Asus Turbo Gear: allows to overclock the cpu up to 15% ( and i wanted to make sure it did so i saw CPU-Z from other users on youtube and downloaded it)

CPU-Z: using CPU-Z is awesome, it shows what my cpu speed was running, in the video it shows core speeds as low as 1500Mhz even though my processor is rated at 2.53Ghz, but i noticed when my computer is doing stuff like editing videos or playing games it will show up at 2520Mhz gong to 2.53Ghz the rated speed.

and as you see in the video, I used turbo gear and choose the 15% overclock option and once it fixed the settings it shows in CPU-Z the core speed up to 2888.5Mhz

and now i know for sure that my CPU is actually up 15% at 2.8Ghz ( AWESOME! might I add, for me at least) as i know for some people BORING, but hey I'm just showing that the utility from Asus works.

HW Monitor: in this video, it is monitoring the temperatures after playing Team Fortress 2 for about an hour long.
reaching 77 degrees Celsius on the GPU (is this any bad, i dont notice any performance loss, games play fine)
and 64 degrees Celsius on the processors w/ the 15% overclock

  • MATE I HAVE THE ASUS G60VX pretty much everything is the same apart from the cpu which is only core 2 duo @ 2.13ghz can i overclock it and how thanks justin

  • @justkid415

sorry, i never got into so much of overclocking this notebook as it does it's job with the games of its time! You can possibly download the asus turbo gear program from asus themselves on the website which is just for the CPU its self, i have tried some other programs with overclocking the gpu but had no success other than the GPU underclocking its self from stock settings. now, i just play games that this GPU/CPU can handle. sorry if it wasnt much help, its been awhile since then

  • Dude, I own a G72GX, but when I set to overclocking mode, at Bad Company 2, my conection starts to lag a lot, I cant even play.. Do you know what might could be?

  • @GoRamiro sorry i do not know.. i have BFBC2 and i overclock and play with very good framerates

  • @Amel22 well for me the only time i can not overclock is when i am not plugged to the wall, on battery power you can not overclock, so maybe thats why? other than that, i am not to sure sorry!

  • @GoRamiro what your internet connection. speedtest (dot) net to check

  • @650sFinnest Either CPU or GPU are at a standards of speed that is locked by the manufacturer. Overclocking means to unlock those standards to faster ones. Lets say i have 1 ghz processor, it is meant to be used as 1 ghz, but you can overclock it to 2 ghz. so you can save money in overclocking, but if you don't have good heatsink then your processor lifespan will decrease.

  • @nathanlujangmail Can you tell me your avarege FPS with Medium graphics and with 1600x900 resolution?

Mine here gets 15~20 got to be something wrong! Im loosing my hair here...

  • @noobas00 Sorry, I didnt copy that, What you mean normal processor speed? I just can overclock trought turbogear....

  • @GoRamiro Instead of OC, try normal processor speed but look for additional option near normal processor speed and choose 20% overclock instead of 5%(default) and then overclock. Lags at BFBC2 fixed, for me of course.

  • @nathanlujangmail Nice:( Im trying everything here, new drivers, win7 64 bits, isnt overheating... when I set at standart mode, internet runs okay but then causes so fps drop...

what driver vers. are you using?

    thanks
