ok, the dress is hideous, the hair is good, the nose job looks good, the vocal runs are scary, the flipping of sweat is downright gross. She is much better than this. It''s ok to play with the original melody but to distort it to a point almost unrecognizable, what's up with that? Maybe she was catching some breath from the previous song. I have always liked Patty and this is not her best.

@jvjames1 LOL remember this was1991 thats prob what they were wearing back then ;-) but yeah not her greatest dress, This was only 2 years after the release of if you asked me too in 1989 its got the same melody as the orignal release she just plays with the key I think the reason it sounds so wrong is that by the time she did the Flame tour in 1997-1999 and recorded Live one Night only she had perfected it. Its in the video responses.

I remember my mom loving Patti when I was younger & we watched her on TV perform. I think I liked watching her because of her theatrics - she's very animated & I like that! At 2:38 - 2:50, you see her connect with the song & let the music direct her actions. Michael Jackson said the same thing. She's amazing & I would love to take my mom to see her in concert for Mother's Day!

The persons that are always in her band are amazing, let alone the persons who sing her background vocals. Listen to this New York concert series with a nice set of headphones or ear-buds. Simply...amazing!

@jacksonobamafan4life If you look back a page, I took back what I said, I just wasn't getting her soul/vibe at the time, but, after listening like 5 more times.  I like this performance. I think it's truly the Diva I know. She is a little more dramatic in this performance than others. I really like Patti and think she is one of the most underated and appreciated artist around so as I said then I was harsh and not feeling it at the time. So long live Patti and much love to her.

@jvjames1 R u serious? That performance was the shit. The dress was in style & it was her style. And you must never seen her in concert because she always flicks sweat in the crowd, it's nothing knew. And it's her song, she can change the melody if she wants. The vocal runs were amazing. And you try giving a concert for over 2 hours, you know what how about one: you wouldn't even last.
