Willy Mason - 'Pickup Truck'

We were honoured to film this session with the wonderful Willy Mason during his visit to Salford for this year's Sounds From The Other City Festival. Here, he performs 'Pickup Truck' at Peel Hall.

I started touring when I was 17. Got pulled up onstage during a Bright Eyes show and sang a song of mine. Signed to TEAM LOVE RECORDS thereafter. They put out Where The Humans Eat, my first LP, in 2004. I got a small hit off that record in the UK called Oxygen. Signed to Virgin Records UK in 2005 and they picked up Where The Humans Eat for distribution internationally. I put out my second LP If The Ocean Gets Rough in 2007. Had a single off that one too called Save Myself. I've spent a lot of time touring in the US, Canada, UK, Western Europe, Japan and Australia but I like being home in Massachusetts too. I teach music to all ages sometimes at the high school and do a news program for the local radio station.
