Three and half million pashtuns live amongst the daunting mountains and lush green valleys of the tribal areas of Pakistan called the Federally Administered Tribal Area or simply FATA.
The story is about the worlds largest tribal community the fearless and independent. Pashtuns of FATA who have remained unconquered in history. However today they are facing their biggest challenges.
Today the entire social structure of FATA is under threat from extremist forces that emerged after the defeat of the Soviet Union and the fallout from the invasion of Afghanistan following the 9/11 attacks on New York.
The extremists have made FATA their base. Here the warlords, arms dealers, drug barons and criminals have merged thus creating space for predatory attacks on local populations for enriching themselves. Ironically the people of FATA find themselves refugees in their own homeland and are today hostage to the very people to whom they gave refuge in the first place.
Both are fighting for protecting the world against terrorism.
Thanks wonderful documentry
