I had a similar method to wrapping my bento except I didn't pull it tight because I have twinkies that I didn't want to get smooshed.
And to prevent that flap of fabric of hanging down, I folded the corners that would touch the bento in so that they don't move when held but don't flap about either. I also used a much less fancy cloth...it was a cut up skirt >.<

wow i thought i was wrapping my bento wrong so i looked this up...i was actually doing it right. all i had to do was tie it twice instead of once. =]
