Jess&Toby; Our Journey: 7 years 7 months & 26 days ♥

Hey guys!
Absolutely huuuge video I know! It wasn't supposed to be this long, but 7 years is quite a lot of clips hehe.
So I've never really done a journey video of me and Toby, yet a lot of you always ask. So here it is :) I hope you like it.

How I met Toby... ♥

Well, I had a show jumping pony called Chloe, who I used to compete on a lot. She was fine for the first couple of months, but then she started to rear. It was just the odd rears at first, but then it got more and more, and she started to throw me in front of cars when I used to hack her and everything.
I couldn't school her, the only thing I could do was jump.

I stayed with Chloe for a year, trying my hardest to get the rearing to stop, as I didn't want to give up, however I couldn't.

One day she backed up under a low block of stables and threatened to rear, luckily I got off in time, but if she's had reared with me I would've been crushed. My mam refused to let me ride her until she was 'fixed' so we sent her away to a horse trainer.

The man who worked with her jumped for the british team and he said he'd never met a horse like her, and even he struggled to ride her. He made a deal with us that he'd fine us another horse, and keep Chloe for us, so we took it.

We waited for him to get in contact with us, but he didn't. And I got sick of waiting, so my mam drove us up to his yard. He said he didn't have anything suitable for me at the time, then I saw Toby.

He was in the corner stable with his head sticking out and I asked about him.
"You don't want that. It's going back to Ireland, no one wants it" but I did. I walked over and he ran to the back of his stable, it's so hard to see his vibrant personality now and compare it to what it was like then.

I asked the man if I could ride him, and yeah he mightn't have been anything special to anyone else, but he was to me. I knew instantly. All my confidence came back, and I was in love. He was only 4 years old, and I'd never had a youngster before, but I was up for the challenge.
He could hardly canter when I first bought him, and he'd never seen a jump in his life, I had a long jounrey ahead of me, totally worth it though.

I told the man I wanted him straight away. We were going on holiday to Ireland though, so I had to wait a week before I could have him. It was the longest week of my life. I rang the man every night to make sure he never sold him.

Finally I got back home, and Toby came the next day. Tuesday 18th April 2003. The best day of my life.
He was the most beautiful horse I've ever seen and I'm so glad I bought him, and the rest is in the video :)

He's changed my life so much, and I can't thank him enough. It hasn't always been easy as you can see. We've dealt with so much criticism, Toby breaking his leg twice, being told he may have to be put down, and he's just surprised us all. He is the most amazing horse I've ever come across, and I love him so so much. I couldn't imagine my life without Toby, and it actually makes me sad thinking about it. He is my best friend in the whole entire world, and I will love him forever no matter what :)

He is the best and most important thing in my life and I will always love him ♥
