  • ive got a 5 year old redtail she likes to take ducks would it be possible for her to take a goose she is pretty aggressive but ive only read about it happening not seen it?

  • @kooldork668 The only way to find out is to go for it! I would try and make some type of goose lure and get her really fixed on them and then when she is ready give it a go! Good luck

  • i have that same gauntlet...But how douse it hold up with red tails? I know there very grippy when you first get them.

  • @DeadPool2995 I have two and they are still in great shape.

  • Very nice vid. How many kills did she get in her first season? well manned and very good on the squirrel. Did you keep her through the molt? or release her back?

  • She had approximately 25 squirrel kills her first season with about 8 rabbit kills. I kept her through her molt and just recently released her. Occasionally I see her while bow hunting.

  • This is a really beautiful bird!

  • Whats the song at the end?

  • hahahah i did the same when i had my red tail, i would sit on the couch, put down a blanket behind my bird, then chill and watch TV with her :D

  • Excellent video.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • thanks for posting. I really enjoyed it.

  • @dassault2512 , yes, the red tailed hawk is one of the most successful birds to use in falconry. They are actually one of the three choices of birds that you have to choose to start falconry in america. The other two birds that you can use are the american kestrel and the red shouldered hawk. Though those two birds are notoriously hard to train. Although I have had great success with red shouldered hawks, but would never recommend them to someone to start falconry with.

  • You did a Great job training, nice video too.

  • Hi, would a red tailed hawk be appropriate to start falconry with?

  • @lovelycowgirl1 I'm in this process myself. Joining North American Falconers' Exchange forums is a good place to start - they have a sticky thread that tells you the steps for a beginner. I'd post a link but I'm afraid it'd get moderated.

  • how would i find a master around my area if i wanted to become an apprentice?
