  • Is it just me, or does Matt's girlfriend look like the Mona Lisa?

  • @TheDharmawheel Yeah, it really undermines the notion that "God is just." In addition, "God" gave us these wonderful minds, but he requires us to stop using them when we catch a whiff of the truth of reality.

  • Woah I had no idea that was her in that other vid! She and Matt are great together.

  • @lynnmist123 haha i thought exactly the same

  • i didn't think it was possible but now that i know that she's the one that did the prank call, i love her even more. I wish them two a happy marriage, and god bless... ironically

  • @lynnmist123 I wouldn't say the Mona Lisa, but certainly she looks like she just stepped out of a Renaissance painting.

  • Yeah. It's a mixed con to being an atheist: you value life so much more, so the impact of a death can hit you like a hammer.

  • Animals don't have the "same moral status" of humans? I'm not sure what that means. Our morality is a variation of other animal behaviors. There's nothing special about it. I wouldn't blame anyone who looked at how meat is processed and chose to stop consuming that food because of its cruelty to animals. I'm also not sure abt "everything evolved to eat everything else" as an argument against vegetarianism. She seems a little confused to me.

  • @xESOTERlC "one thing that was once beneficial to society in the long run that is now unethical or unnecessary (implying it wasn't at that time)"?

I think what you see as implied is actually an underdeveloped statement. I see Dharma pointing out that some things (such as the Tuskegee Experiment and the Rhesus monkey trials) were not readily perceived as unethical by the practitioners, and such is the case with human/animal testing today. Another: praying instead of providing medical treatment.
