Auto Tune: What you can really do with it (Ryan Leslie Gibberish)

People may think that Auto Tune is ruining music. When rappers use it and try to sing with it, it's a bit ridiculous, not focusing so much on shier talent, in the case of actual singers, Auto Tune is just an "effect that sounds cool" like reverb (or for those who don't know what reverb is, it's a type of echo that makes you sound like you're in a hall or tunnel). People should not mistake bad singers who use auto tune ONLY for auto tune messing up music. The "thing" that is messing up today's music is people who clearly have no abundance of singing talent USING auto tune to try to add to their talent. Also, those who use auto tune in EVERYTHING they do. That portrays deception. For people who can't sing, it's more of a critical tool that saves you. For people who CAN sing, it's more of a fun tool. But sometimes you can tell what talent people have or lack even through their auto tune... you can clearly tell how much auto tune is REALLY doing to help them out, depending on what kind of ear you have for talent....This is my Gibberish (let's get serious version).

@jacquesjunk Thank you :) I listened to "I Look To You" Auto Tune is NOT used on her voice on that song. Auto Tune is a pitch correcter. You can usually tell when it is on. Even slightly, I can tell. Auto tune doesn't have anything to do with a possible speech impediment. What auto tune does is take the notes that someone is singing and corrects them automatically. So she very well may have a speech impediment (which by the sound of things, I don't think so), but auto tune is irrelevant.
