Mario Kart Wii - Jun 28 08 A

So I realized that I hadn't used the Cheep Charger much, or at all online, actually. Looking at its stats, and based on my past experiences with the Quacker, I figured that it seems pretty suitable with Automatic control. Well, it turns out I was right, and my VR has gone up.

Of course, what goes up must come down, and people who have watched my videos before know that my VR is incredibly unstable. Here, I document my rise and fall.

Race #1
Maple Treeway
Here, I do a test race online on Regional to see how I fare with the Cheep Charger. It looks like I've done pretty well; I took a pretty stable lead here by the final lap. And at the end, you can see that my VR has surpassed 7800.

Race #2
N64 Sherbet Land
This is a race against D007, also known as Noddingdog on the Mario Heaven forums and with his own place called FullHealth (at http://www.fullhealth.co.uk if yu want to check it out). He's got a 9999 VR and plays mostly against other people within his group with very high VRs. Typically, I'm the only kart user in the group, but this time, I've defied the competitive players in three other ways: I'm using the Wii Wheel, I'm playing as a lightweight (Toad will never get any taller, I suppose), and I'm playing on Automatic drifting. That I placed 5th out of 12 is pretty nice for me.

Race #3
N64 Bowser's Castle
Fast forward to a later race against this group, and I wind up paying for playing as a lightweight. I get pushed around and outright abused by all of the Funky Kongs around, and kart or bike, I would have placed last with the punishment everybody seemed to be dealing me. When I stay too long in a room, this stuff usually happens to me. But I'm cool with it. I never let the desire to win get in the way of artistic preferences. (Also, what was with that guy who chose nothing but N64 Sherbet Land? One thing that annoys me in MKW more than anything else is someone who picks a track over and over yet continues to pick the same track after it's been chosen.)

By the way, my VR is currently back to the high 7400s. What you don't see here are a series of unrecorded races in another room where some guy named "Chacha P." turns out to have mastered items, getting by in the races by shooting everyone else down. As he's a Guest, I get very few VR placing just below him and I lose a lot placing well below him.

Blooper Ink doens't realy do much for me. I just make sure to watch out for POW Blocks by feeling for the vibration.

WOAH, 8:55, a Red Shell was enough to send the Cheep Charger into the lava.

No, what happened there was that I got hit by a Red Shell, then bumped in midair by the next person passing by.
