Years have passed like a flowing stream.
Big dreams turned out into tiny schemes.
Friends and ideals, all passed out.
I whisper, where I used to shout.
Politics, of course, still make me sore,
But I don't go demonstrating anymore.
Years have passed, and I've grown old.
Yet I'm still looking for Alice on the threshold.
Incidentally broke the looking-glass last year,
While I was fixing my newly bought furniture.
The white rabbit, he died from a bad flu.
After all the things he had gone through.
The queen of heart still rules the land.
For brutality, yes, we have demand.
Years have passed, and Bingo !
Yet I'm still looking for Alice behind the window.
The March hare, he went horse two years ago,
And the mad hatter's on therapy, oh ! oh !
Heumpty Deumpty ended in an omelette.
A yearly Christmas card is all I get
From Twiddledum and Twiddledee, who both work
for gay pride.
They're attending the mock turtle who attempted
suicide.
By so many ways I'm out of style,
Yet I'm still looking for Alice by the turnstile.
The story's over, time for goodnight kisses.
Anyway, my son, he tore the book into pieces.
These are real bad times for a story tell-o,
Yet I'm still looking for Alice through the keyhole.

Waouh magnifique chanson, j'ai pris plaisir à découvrir ce joyau musical où l'harmonie est parfaite. La voix est belle et sensuelle, çà m'a rappelé "Léonard Cohen" ... La musique lui va comme un gant.. Bravo à tous..Carine.
