JAY BLACK WITH THE LEAD VOCALS SOUNDING VERY MUCH LIKE "ORBISON". JATA'S DO A GREAT JOB WITH THIS UPBEAT RENDITION. RECORDED BY JATA'S CIRCA 1968 AND INCLUDED IN THEIR "SANDS OF TIME" ALBUM.

"Mean Woman Blues" is a 12-bar blues song written by Claude Demetrius. It was recorded by Elvis Presley as part of the soundtrack for his 1957 motion picture, Loving You. Presley also released the song on Side 2 of a four-song EP record.

In 1963, the song was recorded with "Blue Bayou" as a 45rpm single by Roy Orbison that went to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 music charts.

  • I would like to see Jay perform this in person. Of course, I would like to see him, period, performing this or anything at all. Sounds a bit different here. He is so multi-talented.

  • ....actually sounds a bit like Dwight Yoakem on this one...the nasal sound...not his usual style.

  • Boy, this DOES sound like Roy, almost too much.

  • yes Jay has a beautiful voice.

  • Jay's voice is just so perfect on this song!
