Tsumami kanzashi Documentary 1/5

Documentary about hana tsumami kanzashi, Japanese traditional silk hair ornaments. I did not make, nor do I own the film. I simply love tsumami kanzashi and hope to share some information about it! I am truly sorry that it is with no translation, but I do not know Japanese. Anyone willing to translate and make subtitles will be very welcome!

  • I googled how to make rice paste and the site that came up had this video. I would like to know if there was an error and the recipe is supposed to have 1/4 cup SUGAR, not salt, I ask because I made it 2x and destroyed my blender, (my fault) the blender was old anyway. And each time I can feel what can only be, rice or salt. Looks like salt and the rice was blended well. I am gonna make it one or time at least and when I do I am gonna put sugar, not salt, and see what happens.

  • @willow6969696969 I doublt it's sugar. It's surely salt - the glue is salty in taste (I once tad to hold a glued petal in my mouth).

  • I would love a file of this video to translate from Japanese to English

  • @sraew I have it so if it is possible, I can get in uploaded somewhere

  • @LeefDamariel i would to see this in english as well..becasue i am enjoying the visuals and hearing the native tongue..but i do not understand it unfortunately :(

  • @pheonixphire I won't translate it because I don't speak Japanese.

  • Starch will make it crisp and easier to fold. I know nothing about the art but was fascinated and read somewhere why they often use starch. you spray the fabric before cutting and folding.

  • At 4:05, what is being applied to the silk? Thanks :)

  • Okay TY do u recall a grainy salt texture? Now I am not gonna try it with salt gonna make wheat paste instead. If that don't give me the finished dry result I want then I may have to move on to glue and water mixture or the stuff you can get at the hardware store.

  • @lukkha1 - you are just to0 amazing. thank you. IT really does mean a lot ot me. you are so kind.

  • @notasoutherngirl ok i will try to send you one part a week . i am fluent in japanese but unfortunately not in english so i will do my best
