A 60s recording from the four oldest members (Olympia, Leon, Charmaine, James) of R&B group The Sylvers. The success of their early live performances earned them a spot as one of Ray Charles' opening acts.

In the 70s, the group was joined by their younger siblings. As The Sylvers, they recorded the Pop hits "Boogie Fever", "Hot Line", and "High School Dance". As their lineup changed throughout the years, only James Sylvers (a.k.a. Jonathan) has been a member of each incarnation of the group.

In the early 80s, eldest brother Leon Sylvers III became a successful R&B producer for groups such as Shalamar, The Whispers, and Lakeside, among others. He also played bass guitar in the R&B group known as Dynasty.

Charmaine Sylvers is a co-writer of Shalamar's "A Night To Remember", a song that propelled that group's success in the United Kingdom.

  • All I can say about the Sylvers Family is...TALENTED, TALENTED, TALENTED...enough said! This is cute..I love the harmony that these brothers and sister had at such a young age!

  • cute.

  • Thanks for posting this. Was always a Sylvers fan, however, I wasn't aware of Olympia, Leon, Charmaine and James being such darlings as the Four Little Angels. Truly talented from birth. God truly blessed many gifts unto the Sylvers and despite adversities, trials and tribulations, the still remain strong and talented, and LOVED by their many adoring fans myself included. Thanks to TV One Unsung as well as YouTube for giving their fans to adore them even more.
