    I did. After some use I am less enthusiastic about birch as bow wood, since it has developed some slight pressure failures. (In other words a very unforgiving wood if there's a slight imperfection in the tiller) Gonna try ash or elm next.

    Yes, even Norwegian bowyers import a fair share of Osage, but I think I'll stay with native trees for now ;)

  • Did you make your bow? When I was a kid growing up on the Great Prairie Lands of central USA we made our bows out of a wood called Osage Orange, from a the tree that grew along the fence rows beside the farm fields.
