Funktionsfähiges Flugmodell, Functional Model Airplane, Antonov AN-124, M 1:144

Das Flugmodell ist ein Revell Modellbausatz. Die Elektronik und Mechanik wurde in Handarbeit komplett selbst entwickelt und eingebaut. Die Maschine besitzt folgende naturgetreue Funktionen: Fahrwerk auf/zu, Bug- und Heckklappen auf/zu, Lande- und Bremsklappen auf/zu, sämtliche Beleuchtungsfunktionen. Das Flugzeug wird be- und entladen mit funkferngesteuerten LKWs. Die Komplettanlage wird hin und wieder auf grösseren Modellbauausstellungen gezeigt und vorgeführt. Das Modellflugsystem besteht aus einem an der Raumdecke montierten Schienensystem in dem ein Steuerwagen fährt. Das Modellflugzeug hängt stabil an acht dünnen Fäden an diesem Wagen. Der Steuerwagen besitzt unabhängig voneinander wirkende Seilwinden, durch die das Flugzeug naturgetreu starten, fliegen und landen kann. Die Schräglage wird Zwangsgesteuert. Zur Zeit wird ein Tankflugzeug vom Typ KC-10 gebaut das die Antonov im Flug betanken kann. Neues Komplett-Video (mit Fluganlage) folgt Anfang 2011.

The model airplane is a Revell kit. The electronics and mechanics were custom-crafted and installed in the airplane by hand. The airplane has the following life-like functions: landing gear up/down, front and rear gate open/close, flaps and air brake on/off, all lighting functions. The aircraft can be loaded with radio-controlled trucks. The complete system is occasionally shown at larger model exhibitions. The system consists of a model airplane mounted on a ceiling track system which houses a control carriage. The model airplane is attached to the carriage via eight thin strings. The carriage has independent winches that enable the airplane to take off, fly, and touch-down. A KC-10 tanker is currently under development that will be able to refuel the Antonov in mid-flight. A new video will be available early 2011.
