CHOPIN-Ballade n1-Rafal Blechacz.

On October 21, 2005, Rafal Blechacz became the sole recipient of all five prizes at the 15th international Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in warsaw, taking First Prize and the Polonaise, mazurka, Sonata and concerto prizes.
One of the judge said that Blechacz "so outclassed the remaining finalists that no second prize could actually be awarded".

@UriasGilberto Totally agree with you ! I like very much blechacz but absolutely nothing to see with Zimerman ! And above all, the Ballade n1 played by Zimerman is the best version ever !

@mx19idlewilder ...I am a citizen of Poland no less than you, vote in the elections, so have the right to complain that my disgust with Zimerman is not more widely shared and is not recognized by the Polish state. I am not alone in thinking that Zimerman, by his activities, did disgrace our country and the memory of our great composer.

@mx19idlewilder ...your distinction between the !st and the 2nd is very nebulous...I would say that both Agerich and Horowitz, especially go for extemely severe departures from the text, in the dynamic markings, this is much worse than not taking the repeats, or taking too many repeats, or even outright playing distorted chords, hands out of sync, etc.,...on this they are much worse than Pogorelich or Cortot, and Rach. is, pretty much, a monkish purist, in a way that I like..
