@fjordland : I think the BBC adaptation is far superior in practically every way, than the movie version... and I say that loving Jackson's interpretation... But it doesn't hold a candle to the BBC.
The lay of Gilgalad is one of the shining moments for me. I truly wish JRR Tolkien had written the entire text, so that people could work from it today, to produce a work with the same heart as that shown in this small section of the BBC adaptation... Beautiful singing, and complimentary music.

Love it! I have listened to this Sooo many times, I've owned the tapes since I was really little and the best thing about this adapation is the songs. I listen to them over and over again!

@ssparrow331: Apparently So. I could be the passage of time but Bill must be a talented voice artist as he sounds so different.... Now he's has been mentioned for the Hobbit movie narration.

I LOVE you! This is AWESOME. And I LOVE the BBC LotR and probably know it by heart because I listened to it a bazillion times and has always been my first exposure/version of LotR...
And THIS version of the Lay is my absolute fav too!
