Come join the Black Skeptics Group at Lucy Florence coffehouse in Leimert Park on November 7th at 1:00 in a candid discussion about living happily and morally without religion." -Dr. Sikivu Hutchinson

We are a group of people who meet in the Los Angeles area to discuss (not argue or debate) our experiences with religion and church as it relates to the black community (all are welcome). We are not here to convert anyone or change anyone's views. We provide a place to exchange ideas and stories to those people who have questions but feel they cannot openly discuss their faith and belief without persecution.

I have been without faith since birth.Im still incredibly shocked anytime i run into another black Atheist.Religion, especially christianity, is ingrained into our consciousness.Imagine if we actually brain washed the masses with something positive

Even though I'm white, this is just great! I can only assume that it's a lot harder for black people to break free from religion in the US than what it is for white people...

I would rather call myself a skeptic than an atheist, but I believe that atheists at least exercise their minds and search for truth in stead of just blindly accepting what their pastors tell them. I wish you all the best! I hope the event will draw a lot of people.

Did Steve Harvey say Black Atheist are immoral or all Atheist are? I think Steve Harvey is a great comedian and The Steve Harvey Show is one of my favorite ever, but if he has any negative view of Atheism, then I will have to lose some respect for him. Just a little. I will still listen to his comedy, that is if he is still doing comedy, but if he starts talking about religion and Atheism/Atheist, then I will kindly ignore him.
