Good!! but, caustic soda corrodes metals secially pistons that are made on Aluminium,I´m afraid that caustic soda particles will remain into your machine Are your car still running?

Yes those measurements are correct .
I don't see why using pure Canola oil would be a problem or many other cooking oils.
