This mini-documentary from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity Foundation explains how the statist policies of Presidents Hoover and Roosevelt lengthened and deepened the Great Depression. The video also briefly explains how reductions in the burden of government spending helped the economy recover from a deep recession after World War I and to grow after World War II.

I really love the unemployment quote. They fail to mention years prior and afterwards. In 1933(start of Roosevelt administration) unemployment was around 25% (Insert the figures in the video here) and the unemployment afterwards as around 10%. The stats you use as "evidence" are garbage, it only shows a minor peak of unemployment.

Another example, she says Hoover raised the top income tax rate to 63%. True, but that was in his final year in office... 3 years after he cut the top tax rate to 25%. This significant tax cut did little to halt the Depression. So her point about the Hoover myth is well taken, but she doesn't speak the whole truth. She leaves things out for her convenience, which means it has a right wing slant. It's not a sin to say such a thing.

This is being delivered by someone who works for the Daily Caller, I'd say that makes it right wing. She does make some relevant points about Hoover being more of an interventionist than people believe, but she still leaves significant things out. For example, when discussing the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and its impact on the Depression, she neglects to mention that several protectionist tarrifs were enacted in the 20s during the boom time... with little ill effects.
