  • @imstreets they're taxis. taxicabs in ireland just use their own cars, but they add a few nut 'n' bolts: signs, license documents etc.

  • In Ireland an emergency vehicle responding to an emergency is exempt from the road traffic act with very few exceptions (one way streets etc).

  • -_- They never gave me warning when I had an open fracture which ripped through my main artery in my left arm.

  • I agree with you. so far, our patients with this kind of case all of them are concious but my last 3 cases of attack which are all unconcious: 2 to tell their dreams, 1 never wake up.

  • right i get ya now... 100% there if they are having a M.I... only blues no sound unless absolutly ness... and if the patient is concious you always warn them before hitting them on... if unconcious no need to worry.. just whack them on and get to A+E asap

  • Nope, what I'm trying to say is that when a patient is having chest pain (heart attack, Myocardial infacrtion or ischemia) we don't use siren cause it may aggreviate more stress to the patient during transport or sometimes we use the hi/low siren for much less noise. As much as possible less stress for the patient. sorry for the wrong grammar. I know you are a medic and i thought you knw what I mean in the 1st place

  • cardiac arrest is one of the view instances when blue lights and sirens can be used to and transport from a call... or are ya trying to be sarcastic???

  • an ambulance cannot breach any traffic law or break any speed limits... ambulance personnel are just as much at risk from prosecution as any other driver on the road... the lights stayed on and as benken said there was a blockage in traffic so whats the point in keeping the siren's on...

  • I'm a Paramedic in London. Legally they have to put the blues/sirens on but just because you see an ambulance responding does not mean it is a life threatening call. They were probably dispatched on a load of sh@t. They were driving safe for other road users here. There is no point pushing traffic across main roads, this can create massive risks and hazards to other road users.
