He is a farmer, journeyed a long way from the small village to Beijing for join the show. With only 80 RMB in hand the night before his audition, he slept on the grassland.Which gave him a new name：grass boy.

His beautiful voice overwhelmed all the audience when they laughed at his look, and even brought the judges into tears. His name is Zhong Mengxiu.

Zhong Mengxiu is the most famous contestant from countryside, the pursuit of dream makes him keep going as a singer.

Its his humbleness that touched audience and judges. He has a powerful voice and good voice control, yes I agree that there are many good contestant but he seem to stand out among them.

@ghulmus not really. they just like to save face a lot. guarantee the guy will get cut eventually when there's less focus on him. tons of ppl in china have similar backgrounds

@siuyinko..... I was the part of the show... our group of 3 foreigners.. one of many contestants.... we made it to the 4th round where we were eliminated... for no reason being told....... in the 4th round where every contestant was given a fresh song to sing (completely different from the previous rounds) this guy was allowed to sing the same song that he had sung in the previous round.. and he was chosen to go into the next round!!!!! that isnt called encouragement...
