  • AND, the top black ring separating the top black band from the lower red doesn't look like those on the Queen Elizabeth...

  • I would agree that this isn't the RMS Queen Elizabeth, she didn't have a platform like the Mary or the Normandie, nor do you see any rivets on the funnel surface which both Queens had, whether or not it's the Normandie is anyone's guess but my money is on it not being the original "Lizzy"

  • Now THATS a REAL whistle. No air or electric thing can ever match the majesty of that!

    Downright best whistle sound ever.

  • A magnificent sound--truly the mother of all ship's whistles! Leslie Tyfon, I believe--more of a steam horn, with diaphragm.

  • Firstly, the ship you refer to was SS Normandie (ie not y).

Second, I disagree with your assumption that this was Normandie. Normandie's whistles were on her forward funnel and had piping and equipment on the exterior of the funnel. Queen Elizabeth on the other hand had hers concealed within the funnel casing.

A simple Google image search will disprove your theory.

    Chris.

  • I did no mean it like a burn!!!!!! Sorry if it sounded like that!!!!!!! :( I was just stating what I saw.

  • @btomimatsucunard Ow! Haha! Burn for the uploader! xDD

    (Nothing personal, Mr. Uploader!!! :D)

  • @Ping4PongWolfie Because of the funnel's color, and that I see a platform under the cloud of steam

  • Judging by the shape and color of that funnel, and the sound, I would agree it is the Normandy.

  • @btomimatsucunard How do you know that?
