@GuineaPigLuverz I use semi-brackish. I use filtered water, I add start right to it to help remove any poisons that might be in it, and I add a large pinch of aquarium or sea salt. I change the water every two weeks, I feed them flake food, and I have a small pump running all the time to aerate the water. The other important thing is the stone ramp that allows them to go on land as they choose. Both of my crabs shed yesterday so that means they must be happy :-)

@soysauce47 Male bettas and female fiddlers have worked well for me :-) Male fiddlers will catch pretty much any kind of fish.

@dizzyarcher01 Please keep in mind that I only have females. If you have males they WILL catch and eat your betta :-)

@AuberyMirkwood thanks, i was only going to get females anyway. why do they catch the males? is it because of their long fins?

@dizzyarcher01 Well the male crabs have the one large claw which is big enough to grab the betta. The females only have very tiny weak claws so the betta can get away. I have now moved my betta in to a ten gallon with neon tetras and have added male crabs to this tank because I enjoy watching them display at each other.
